John Reed Welch M.D.

Dr. Welch after undergraduate training at Stanford and the University of Arizona, obtained his medical degree at Cornell University in New York. He attained Residency in Ophthalmology and Fellowship in Glaucoma at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, after serving as a General Medical Officer in the Air Force 1967-69. He was Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1974; and he served as President of the Weld County Medical Society and the Colorado Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Colorado Health Science Center and has attended there for 27 years. He was elected to the National Registry of Who’s Who and the Best Doctors in America.

Dr. Welch enjoys biking and skiing in the Rocky Mountains with his family and friends. He and his wife Andria have raised four children in Greeley and currently spend weekends visiting their three grandchildren.

 

Matthew J. Uyemura M.D.

Dr. Uyemura began practicing in Greeley in 1999. After earning his medical degree from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois in 1991, Dr. Uyemura finished his Internship at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado. He then spent a year at Fort Greeley, Alaska as a General Medical Officer. After Completing his Residency in Ophthalmology, he served at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri for three years before coming to Greeley. He was Board Certified in 1996. Dr. Uyemura is an active member of the Weld County Medical Society, Colorado Society of Eye Physician and Surgeons, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Uyemura lives an active Colorado lifestyle with his wife Julie and their two young daughters.
